IQfy – technology for people
We have a mission: to make everyday life in buildings easier and safer for people,
to make it more economical and easier to plan for companies.
The solution: presence-dependent control via sensors and radio networks.
Andreas Thometzek (managing partner) and Klaus Kleine (technical developer) work together on marketing intelligent solutions in building technology. After 20 years of practical experience in the industry, Klaus Kleine's first project was a solution for office buildings based on his own experience. He couldn't help but notice how energy is wasted every day when rooms are not in use: hours of constant lighting, equipment in standby mode, heating with the window tilted out.
An invisible revolution
The revolutionary solution of having all consumption managed via a highly sensitive, wireless pressure sensor in the office chair was the first major market success for IQfy. The combination of pressure sensors, radio networks and individually programmed controls brought IQfy awards , including the German Innovation Prize (2012) and the award as one of the 100 most innovative companies in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Industry solutions from practice
The IQcare sensor mattress with assistance system transfers the principle of the sparking chair into a mattress and thus into everyday life in care facilities, homes and hotels - anywhere where people lie down a lot. To develop it, Andreas Thometzek and Klaus Kleine spent several weeks in nursing homes, studying processes, sharing long night shifts with the nursing staff and interviewing management.
100 percent Made in Germany
During development it became clear that this type of sensor-based systems can only function economically if they remain maintenance-free, repair-free and complaint-free . This meant a zero-error strategy – and thus the foregoing of international supplier relationships. Because the system must run error-free, IQfy develops and produces all components in-house.
